Greenpeace Leeds meeting Monday 7 October 2013.

Posted by Jayne Harnett - 8 October 2013 at 12:26pm - Comments
Yorkshire Greenpeace groups support for the Arctic 30

Present: Joe, Alan, Rebecca, Cath, Suzy, Jenny, Matt, Andrew, Carla and Jayne.

Good meet starting with short talk from Claire Fauset, Skillshare Network Organiser at Leeds Tidal.  www.leedstidal.org.  Tidal are an independent organization like Greenpeace with no ties to any specific charity or group.  Claire talked about Fracking, Climate Change, Grassroots activism and upcoming events and invited Greenpeace to the Leeds Climate Alliance Inaugural meeting on Saturday 2 November.

Onto Greenpeace Leeds business!   Everyone worked hard to make the Project Pod gig happen and it was a great success raising £366.00.  A big thank you to Rebecca for her input and now she will check on a date before Easter when we can hold another fundraiser with bands from LCM at Wharf Chambers.  Need to book the room asap if we hold the gig on a Friday.

We discussed the Forest campaign and made plans for data gathering exercise.

Digital media updated!

We are invited to the Co-Op free showing of ‘Chasing Ice’ at Hyde Park Picture Theatre on Sunday 3 November.  Meet at the cinema before 5.30pm to engage with people coming to the film, possibly sign up Arctic Defenders, highlight the plight and garner support for the Arctic 30 in prison in Russia.  Alan will create a flyer with info about when and where our group meets to hand out.

Next meeting at 6pm on Monday 4 November 2013 at Wharf Chambers.
