We had a good get together at Wharf Chambers last night with Carla, Trevor, Rebecca, Alan, Sam, Jenny, Noemi, Barbara, Matt, Cath and Joe, with a welcome to newbie Flo who came along for the first time.  Thanks to everyone for your contributions to our planning and discussions.

Festivals: The local summer festivals we are going to try to attend with a view to supporter recruitment and spreading the word about the Greenpeace I ♥ Arctic campaign are below, and we would like you to sign up to volunteer to help with the stall if you are available.

1 June :  Pontefract Crooked Ways.  http://www.crookedways.co.uk/   Barbara to act as host.

6 July : Garforth Arts Festival.   http://www.garforthartsfestival.co.uk/  Alan to act as host.

31 August :  Chapel Allerton Arts Festival. http://www.chapelallerton.org.uk/  Jayne to act as host.

Concert for Project Pod:We have booked Wharf Chambers for the fund raising concert on Thursday 3 October (7.30 to 11pm).  SAVE THIS DATE and invite all your friends to come along to make it a really special event.  We have never done anything like this before so will need all your help!!!  More details later.

Tweeting and Facebook: We should have some tweeting action as Rebecca volunteered to look at the Leeds Greenpeace Twitter and Facebook sites with a view to making them more accessible to everyone and making it easier to post news and events. Also for you to contribute comments and blogs.

Training: Carla is going to the Video training in May so will be able to put the new skills into practice at the festivals and the concert.

There will be a Political Lobbying training day in Leeds on 29 June.  A few of us are already registered but if you interested please email:  lobbying.uk@greenpeace.org or register at www.greenpeace.org.uk/lobbying.

We are going to ask for some Street Campaigning training to help build skills and confidence in engaging the public and getting results.  If this could be combined with the Political Lobbying it would be good.

There is NVDA training scheduled for Manchester in September.  If you are interested please go to : http://bit.ly/WhYXN5 and submit an application.

CHANGE OF VENUE FOR NEXT MEETING:  Due to building work at Wharf Chambers we are going have a social on Monday 3 June instead of the meeting.  The plan is to meet at 6.30pm outside The Hop at Granary Wharf (under the Dark Arches by the train station) and then go for a stroll along the canal path, stopping off for a drink and meal at one of the pubs in Holbeck.  If you need more details about where we are meeting please get in touch.  Thanks again and look forward to seeing you on Monday 3 June.
