We had a good meeting last night at Wharf Chambers and talked about how we are going to participate in the Aurora event on 15 September. As it is a global event and going to be something EXTRA special we all want to be there although we are still working on the logistics. Please get in touch if you are going to the parade from Leeds. If we do not go to London we will do 2 Shell garage protests : one in Leeds and one in Huddersfield. Details also to be finalised so watch this space.
The Pod gig is coming together so watch out for posters and flyers about the event and please come along on Thursday 3 October to support the fantastic bands from Leeds College of Music who are giving their time and talent for free to the Pod cause. We are charging £5 admission for waged and £3 for unwaged. The gig starts at 7pm. We will have a pre-pod party meeting on Monday 30 September to go through final details and the programme. Please make a note of this date.
An anti-fracking mobilization day is being organised in Preston on Saturday, 12 October. Please get in touch if you intend to go.
At least 2 of us from Leeds are going to the Street Campaigning training in York on Saturday 19 October. If anyone else wants to go please email me or Joe.
We are planning a programme of films for the winter months, starting with Chasing Ice which will be good to watch in a warm room with a bucket of popcorn.
The next meeting is after the fundraising gig when we will hopefully all be feeling good and there will be a large donation to send to the Greenpeace Pod fund. Meeting on Monday 7 October 2013 at 6.30pm Wharf Chambers Co-operative.
