What do we want? Better chants

Several people I know have commented that the Wave was a very quiet demonstration.  And I agree with them.  I think this was partly due having so many new people who weren't used to chanting.  But I also think the environmental movement lacks decent chants.  I think we need some new ones.  What do people think of the following:

Didn't we do well

One of the problems I find campaigning with Greenpeace is I get really focussed on organising the next event. I rarely get a chance to reflect on what's been achieved in the past. My new years resolution was to stop doing this, and remember our achievements; and I'd start by listing all the major things our group achieved in 2009. Though I say so myself, I think the results are impressive.

Don't be a Chicken

“I'm feeling rather stalled out” a Greenpeace activist said to me recently, “I really want to dress up as a chicken and invade McDonalds”. As ever, I only remembered the response whilst travelling home. The first is that it is possible to dress up and do stalls. The second is that there's lots you can do for Greenpeace without doing the Non Violent Direct Action training. Not just stalls but demos, MP lobbying, film showings, public meetings and, perhaps most interesting of all, debates.

Another World is Possible

“I don't want to come to Copenhagen”, said an activist friend I know in November. “I don't see what's the point in travelling all that way and causing all that climate change just to go on a demonstration”. At the time I thought I she had a point, but on the bus home I remembered the argument against. Firstly, that trains don't cause that much climate change. Secondly, that activist weekends away are far more than “just a demonstration”, they give you a glimpse of another world.
