Three become One as Worcester, Malvern and Birmingham Greenpeace Groups link to target Shell.

What a glorious day. Setting off with the sun at our backs and the prospect of a morning highlighting Shell's plans to exploit the Arctic, I had a happy heart and as always before an action a little nervous excitement. We arrived around 10, 12 of us, and as usual met together to plan the event, who would be doing what, reminding ourselves of the key campaign messages and deciding the best way to make the biggest impact. Kate and Keiran, two local residents, (well actually he's from Barnsley!),  joined us after reading about it on the website, they felt they just had to make a stand they said.

Elle from Birmingham and Ginny from Malvern groups and I went to see the station manager straight away. The police were waiting for us, without a cup of tea though. Very happy to see us and knew that we had the right approach and looked forward to the action as well. The Shell guy was less pleased to see us.

As soon as we set up the support started to come through, horns a plenty and two people just drove straight off the forecourt without buying petrol as soon as thery knew why we were there. It was great to see through twitter, etc the events up and down the country, feeling part of a movement, is really rewarding.

Everyone had a great day and as the morning progressed and more and more people honked as they past, I knew that this campaign was growing and that protecting the Arctic was no longer a pipedream, but people like us saw it as a necessity.

You can still supoprt the campaign. See the Greenpeace website or text Arctic and your name to 60002.
