Day out at Envirolution Festival

Posted by Comrade Elliot - 13 June 2013 at 8:20am - Comments

While the EDL were parading marching in Manchester’s inner city streets, down the road in Plattfield Park, Fallowfield, activists and volunteers from all over Greater Manchester were setting up for a truly fun-filled afternoon, making the absolute most of the beautiful weather. Envirolution 2013 was a triumph. There were so many different groups, each bringing something unique and exciting to the occasion. The Green Peace stall was a huge success. We had cakes and snacks on sale, a raffle and the affectionately dubbed ‘Pin the Activists on the Oil Rig’. We were overwhelmed and delighted by the enthusiastic response we received from so many supportive Envirolution goers. It was a great opportunity to talk to people about what we’re up to and the positive difference people can make. All in all we raised over £80 and with that a lot of awareness. It was a refreshingly fun day of positive action and we were proud to represent Manchester Greenpeace. Looking forward to next year’s Envirolution and all that comes in between.
