Greenpeace activists from the Merseyside group spent an afternoon in Banks on Sunday where they were warmly welcomed by members of R.E.A.F (Ribble Estuary against fracking)
Part of this campaign included knocking on doors and canvassing opinions directly from the residents, distributing Greenpeace literature and offering one of our "NOT FOR SHALE" boards.
Most of the response was positive although there were a considerable portion of the community we spoke to who were undecided on the issue. It was heartening to note that even some of the most diehard supporters of fracking were willing to spare time to listen to us and were supportive of Greenpeace in general.
R.E.A.F. had set up a very informative drop in session at St Stevens Parish Club and they erected a table for our literature. After a few hours of carrying boards and stakes up and down the road, the tea and cakes we were greeted with upon our return was most welcome.
