Minutes from Greenpeace Newcastle Meeting 1st July 2013

Present: Rakesh, Mike, Chris, Saied, Grace, Artem, Ursula

1) Introductions

2) No Matters arising from the last meeting

4) Skill Share in York, Grace attended and found it to be very enlightening especially the increased focus on campaigning via the internet using social media sites like facebook and Twitter, they also focused on power of images on the web especially pictures of cute animals. 5) Latest news from Greenpeace, the Save The Arctic campaign continues with a focus on the I Love Arctic activities, we have raised all the money to build the POD, there is an opportunity to take part in street campaigning training on the 19th of October in York if you would like to attend please drop us an email at: gp_newcastle@hotmail.co.uk

6) Future activities

a) 20th July, stall at Lush store in Newcastle on behalf of the UK Tar Sands Network, Mike has volunteered to do this and will be there from 2:30pm until 4:30pm

b) 3rd August, stall at Redefest, in Rochester Northumberland, Rakesh is attending but we need more volunteers all travel expenses will be paid for.

c) 18th August, stall at Greening Wingrove festival, for now this is just a date in the diary we will organise volunteers at the next meeting
