Early in February we received an invitation to attend the first Amble Puffin Festival, which we attend today (19th May).  It was a wonderful event organised and run by the very friendly people of Amble, we were joined by a Polar Bear, which had made the trip down from the Arctic for this very special event.

We were asking the people of Amble to show the leaders of the world especially those of the nations of the Arctic council, that they like the wonderful people of Newcastle ❤ Arctic.  Everyone we spoke to was dismayed at the actions of the oil multinationals (who want to drill for deep sea oil), fishing fleets (who want to decimate Arctic fisheries) and countries who want to develop trade routes to China via the Arctic, but there was one overriding feeling amongst everyone.  A feeling of hope, it is not too late, we can still change things!

The Amble Puffin Festival will continue for the next two weeks, if you find yourself at a lose end during this time I would personally recommend it!  Check out the website: http://www.amblepuffinfest.co.uk/ check out whats happening & go!  I promise you will not be disappointed as the people of Amble know how to look after their visitors.
