The Russian coastguard boarded the Greenpeace ship the Arctic Sunrise on the 19th of September as it was bearing witness to Arctic oil exploration by the Russian company Gazprom, according to activists who locked themselves in the radio room the ships crew were rounded up and taken to the ships deck and made to kneel down with their hands up by armed guards.  On the 18th of September two activists were arrested and held without charge when they attempted to stage a PEACEFUL protest, but were forced to abandon their attempt when the Russian coastguard fired warning shots at them.

Please email the Russian Ambassador and demand the release of our activists: https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/page/speakout/release-peaceful-proteste...
