On Saturday we had a stall at the LUSH (facebook page) store in Newcastle where we campaigned on behalf of the UK Tar Sands Network, who are trying keep Tar Sands oil out of Europe.  It was a great opportunity to work with LUSH who are one of the most ethically aware retailers on the high street, who pride themselves on supporting groups like the UK Tar Sands Network.  Pictured above is one of their staff members protesting against the Tar Sands in the centre of Newcastle near Greys Monument.

On the 24th of June, the UK Tar Sands secured a monumental victory, when the councillors of Oxford voted near-unanimously to become Europe's first Tar Sands Free City.  People in other Cities around the country are also pushing for similar decisions as the struggle against the most destructive project on Earth continues in solidarity with campaigns against the Tar Sands like Beaver Lake Cree Nation vs The Tar Sands.
