Volkswagen is the largest car company in the EU, and a major influence on the German government. VW markets its cars as being more efficient than its competitors and is a leading member of the industry pressure group ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association) which actively opposes tighter car efficiency targets.
Volkswagen has the influence and the technology to improve car efficiency, and to help stop climate changes. We need your help to persuade them to turn away from the dark side.
Last year Greenpeace organised a film competition, to parody Volkswagen’s greenwash advertising, and to we are organising a Greenpeace VW film and campaign festival events, showcasing the shortlisted entrants in Newcastle on Friday 27th January.
We would very much like to invite you to come join us, to enjoy the films, to meet other Greenpeace supporters, to find out more about the campaign, and to spread the word
From 7.30pm on Friday 27th January at the Old George, Bigg market, Newcastle NE1 1EZ
If you can’t make this event but would like to find out more about what Greenpeace supporters are doing in the northeast then please ‘join our online group’ by clicking the big orange button here; Newcastle, or here Co.Durham, or here Tynedale.
If you would like to do more to support the campaign then please download a rebel recruitment poster, order a car sticker and more importantly invite your friends to join the campaign.
But please come along, bring friends and family, enjoy the event and together we can enjoy the films and help keep the pressure up on Volkswagen to do the right thing.
