We had a busy bank holiday weekend, with stalls at the Peak Climate Change Festival at Cromford Mill on Saturday, then Chesterfield May Day gala on Monday. We had two campaigns going:
1. Shell in the Arctic - so they can block our emails? So we can go low-tech. Loads of individual postcards were created by members of the public keen to tell Shell to get out of the Arctic, the consequences of an oil spill there, with only a few weeks each year before the ice closes in again, just don't bear thinking about.
2. Indonesian deforestation - dozens of companies have seen the light and cancelled their comntracts with Asia Pulp ansd Paper, but a stubborn few are still willing to buy their products or invest in their operations. With the help of a passing orangutan, people posed for photos with a 'Dump APP' sign, the photos will be sent to US booksellers Barnes& Lynch, New Zealand supermarket chain Countdown and Canadian finance company Mackenzie. Link to the photos here.
