Greenpeace, alongside other organisations including Oxfam, Unicef, Christian Aid, Friends of the Earth and RSPB, are a member of the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition (SCCC). SCCC are the UKs largest Group of people dedicated to action on climate change and limiting its impact on the worlds poorest communities. The combined supporter base of more than 11 million people spans over 100 organisations, from environment and development charities to unions, faith, community and women's groups.

To mark the forthcoming Rio+20 Earth Summit in June, SCCC are organising a number events throughout the UK aiming to send a climate change message to Government. Local groups and individuals will be telling their MP to back a declaration and fight for a sustainable future. To get involved go to www.rio-connection.org . Look at the interactive map to see if there is an event or a constituency co-ordinator where you are. Extra volunteer co-ordinators are needed for this and future events and you can join through the website. Check out the extensive resources page to see the help available to organise an event and how to make contact with your MP. For more information contact: Michael Uwins, east@stopclimatechaos.org
