last nights group meeting

A very good meeting last night - welcome Richard and Becky to our group.  We discussed the tuna campaign and how the campaign is being stepped up again after a quiet period while negotiations went on with John West.  But as they are not being helpful so stickering will begin again.  So everyone went away with some stickers and we talked tactics and also about going to see shop managers and asking them to stop stocking John West.  An interesting text this morning about that particular issue - someone asked if you go into a shop you have previously stickered and ask to see the manager and the subject of the stickers and or Greenpeace comes up, how do you answer that.  My advice - you are a shopper and are concerned about what you have seen and read.  No need to mention Greenpeace or stickers.

There is a new forests campaign coming up soon with the emphasis on paper produced from pulp from illegally logged timber in the Indonesian rainforest with the main culprit being our old friend Sinar Mas and their company, Asia Pulp and Paper.  As yet we have very little more info than that but it looks fun!  More info as it arrives.

Great chat afterwards too - the socialising is taking over and lasting longer than the meetings which is great.

Next time we all get together will be at the talk at the ICC on the 23rd June when we will all become very intelligent (as if we aren't already) and discuss the use of language and context with regard to climate change.  Find it here on the events page
