Firstly, welome to the new members of the group. Peter has already done one stall with us and is keen to do more and Mike and Mark came as first timers to the monthly meeting and it was nice to see all the old and not so old faces.
Peter fed back on the stall and I fed back on the confrontation in the Arctic then Sue told us to our amazement that another rig had exploded in the Gulf of Mexico which only goes to underline what Greenpeace have been saying in their new website that we need to move beyond oil. And speaking of beyond oil, we will be spreading the message throughout Nottingham.
Many people were interested in the political lobbying training day in October when we will be helping people gain the confidence and skills to lobby their MP's in the run up to the next round of climate change talks in Cancun in Mexico later in the year.
It was good to learn that thanks to work by activists in the US, Burger King have dropped their contract with evil forest destroyers Sinar Mas. The word is getting out there. Hope to see more of you at next months meeting.
