Kirstie arranged for her and I to attend 'Prime Minister's Questions' in the House of Commons on Wed 19th Oct, and to meet Lilian Greenwood, the new MP for Nottingham South, for a cup of tea afterwards. She was very friendly and interested to hear what we had to say, and is very sympathetic to environmental issues, and infact herself volunteered the view that "it is the biggest issue of this century". We introduced ourselves as Greenpeace volunteers and explained how important the role of political leaders is to our campaigns. We didn't make 'an ask', but said that we would be in touch in the future to ask for her support on specific things. It was awsome to see the House of Commons too and to see MPs debating - a brilliant day for us!
