Move over Nestle

Posted by Burdie - 18 May 2010 at 3:51pm - Comments

So all our good work paid off!  Surprising us all, because we thought Nestle enjoyed the reputation of being the bad guys, they have announced a "no deforestation footprint" and are actively moving towards responsibly sourcing their palm oil - and that includes removing Sinar Mas from their supply chain.  There is lots more about it on the Greenpeace web site but I would like to say a big fat thank you to everyone who took part in this campaign - with a special mention to Amelia the orang utan (in her various guises), Emily, Josi and Dave.  All the photos we took are up on the kit kat give the orang utan the boot website and actually labelled as coming from Nottingham - well, all except 9 because Nottingham group took so many photos we filled our free flickr allowance.  Well done us!

Now to move on to our next target - you might be able to guess from the picture.
