Yesterday I met up with Chris Leslie MP (Nottingham East) to lobby him regarding  the Climate Change Act, the Finance Bill an the Energy Bill.  Chris was very supportive on all 3 fronts.

He offered to co-sign Ed Milliband’s letter and  pressure the Government to stay the course in tackling climate change.

Finance Bill – he said he would keep up to speed on the new EU stress tests  being taken on nuclear power stations.  He offered to speak to some of his fellow MPs re the back door subsidies to the nuclear power industry.

Energy Bill – He has met with Huw Irranca-Davies and Meg Hillier on carbon and green taxes.  Chris is keen to find out how the taxes are spent, annual reporting on how the money is rolled out, to ensure that there is transparency.
