You will have all heard of the lobbying scandal this past week when one MP and 3 members of the House of Lords were caught on camera by the Beeb accepting money ffom lobbyists.  This is the unacceptable face of lobbying BUT in all the furore Greenpeace was mentioned.  We were mentioned as an NGO that has mastered the art of lobbying by sending constituents to visit or write to their MP's to discuss with them issues to do with tne environment.  You will have noticed that the environment has slipped off the political radar.  Well, it is our job to put it back up there at the top of the agenda.  Think fracking.  Think renewables.  Think the fact that a motion in the Commons recently to decarbonise our energy supply by 2030 was only defeated by 23 votes.  Think that our lobbyists talking to MP's made a lot of them vote in favour of decarbonisation.  Think of the effect we as constituents can have if we can talk to every MP in the country about Greenpeace before the next election.  Now think if you can do that.  There is a training day in Leicester on the 22nd June.  If you want to lobby your MP for Greenpeace then contact lobbying.uk@greenpeace.org and apply.  It sounds scary talking to your MP but with our help it isn't.
