Nottingham University have put a planning application for three wind turbines on their sports site at Grove Farm, which is near the Trent - sort of between the river and the Players Factory in the Lenton area of Nottingham.  So that means the usual excuses of visual impact and noise are more or less dead in the water.  As usual there will be the usual NIMBY's who will be objecting to the application so if you are supportive of renewable energy then please write to the relevant planning officer to say that you support the application and why you do so - it doesn't have to be highly technical but if you need an idea or two then visit Yes2Wind and find some useful ammo for your letter there.  The planning application is across two council areas so you will have to write twice so here are the relevant addresses:

for Broxtowe Council you can comment online which is well easy.

Likewise for Nottingham City you can comment online also.

You can also comment via Yes2Wind and they will direct your comments to both planning offices so you only have to comment once.

It is up to us as environmentalists to support this application and the more letters or emails we get supporting it, the more likely it will happen.
