The first ever Global Frackdown took place in September 2012 when 200 communities from over 20 countries challenged hydraulic fracturing - fracking - a risky technique that uses millions of gallons of water, sand and chemicals to break open cracks in shale rock to release pockets of methane gas.  Nottinghamshire sits between two beds of shale and Nottingham Friends of the Earth are organising an opportunity for the public to send postcards to the leader of the County Council to say we don't want fracking in Nottinghamshire.  Come along and sign a card and send the message loud and clear - No Fracking in Notts!
