What a team!

Better late than never... we had a great evening in Oxford on May 25th. That Friday was possibly the hottest day we have had this year, but despite the temptations of the outdoors in summer, about 50 people gathered at the East Oxford Community Centre for some talks and films and poetry and music – oh and cake. Lots of cake.

Big thank yous to the performance poets and musicians who entertained us. It was a shame that our speaker from Greenpeace couldn't make it, but by some premonition, we had Nick Bloomfield's documentary "A Time Comes" to hand. The audience was riveted by the story of the Kingsnorth Six and Emily was there is spirit.

And another big thank you to Kumi Naidoo for getting some books sent over to raffle, along with a few local memorabilia including some much-travelled handcuffs.

Everybody worked really hard to get this event off the ground in only a very few weeks. Well done everyone and we hope some of the new people who came will come and see us again soon.
