Greenpeace delivered a big fat bill of a message to Centrica on Monday to show that we're onto their tricky shenanigans with gas prices.
A report by Bloomberg rated Centrica bottom of the renewables league with only 2.3% share of UK capacity despite having more domestic customers than any other utility and also consistently making the highest profit margin.
Industry lobbying has created a myth that it's renewables that are pushing up domestic energy prices and managed to persuade George Osbourne to claim that the future is gas and yet it's the escalating price of gas which has put an extra £100 on the average annual dual fuel bill. While only about 2% of that bill is down to renewable energy support.
Volunteer activists from Oxford were among the crack team that swooped a little after 7am, taking just a few minutes to close the large office building and erect a massive bill to block the entrance.
A team of five managed to evade security and barricaded themselves into a room inside, covering a wall with our bills to ensure Centrica gets the message.
To their credit, the company knew how to avoid the unwelcome media attention that arrests usually bring and the day settled down to be a very quiet day at the office.
Email Centrica boss Sam Laidlaw to demand they end the energy rip off!
