Cui Bono?

Posted by AndrewM - 22 April 2010 at 7:20pm - Comments

All this guff on the news about Nick Clegg's opposition to Trident renewal being something that people really shouldn't support got me think cui bono? For those who were asleep at the back during Classics at Eton, this is an adage from the great Roman orator Cicero which means "to whose benefit".

To whose benefit is Clegg's opposition to Trident renewal being questioned?

It's something I've been thinking about today and it's hard not to slip in to paranoid thoughts about the tabloid press and the Military-Industrial Complex.

Why is it considered a bad thing for the UK to re-asses its place in the world?

Hmmm!
