Greenpeace What to Cut: Trident campaign
Overview
As the general election battle heats up and politicians compete to explain to the public just how they are going to tackle our national debt, Greenpeace is running a renewed campaign push against the UK spending an obscene £97bn on a new nuclear weapons system, and we need your help!
Aim of the campaign push
- Raise public awareness of the vast cost of building new nuclear weapons.
- Help make the issue of Trident replacement part of the election debate about how to tackle the national debt.
- Demonstrate that there is popular support for cutting expenditure on Trident.
As part of this campaign we are planning to revitalize the Trident network using new online tools (i.e. this online group).
