Two fairly big news stories about Trident this week: former Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell has written in the Financial Times calling for a rethink of Cold War nuclear targeting policies as part of the Trident Alternatives Review. Meanwhile, the dark side of the alliance is announcing that £350 million will be spent on contracts to design new Trident replacement submarines.
