Kate Hudson, Chair of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, has written an opinion piece in the Guardian pointing out that a substantial majority of the public are opposed to replacing Trident, and that not replacing Trident would be a vote winner.
The feedback comments seem generally supportive, too. The three main political parties are all out of step with public opinion on this issue, and I predict they will be very reluctant to discuss Trident and nuclear weapons during the election campaign.
