Submarine reactor test site no longer necessary

Good news: the BBC reports that the HMS Vulcan test site in northern Scotland for nuclear reactors for the Navy's submarine fleet is no longer needed and is likely to close.

Bad news: the cost of decommissioning the site and clearing up the radioactive mess is reported to be £2.1 billion.
