Successful tests on new warhead firing system

Posted by Jothma - 6 April 2011 at 7:40pm - Comments

What’s the difference between the UK and the USA? The latter has to tell its people what it’s up to when they ask. (Oops, so does the UK though you’d never know it.) So it’s no surprise that the news that UK plc is working on upgrading the firing system for our Trident nuclear warheads was released in the US. The aim is to make them  more effective against “hard targets”.  I wonder how that will be measured on the day we press the button?  Rather belies our stated intention of adhering to our commitments under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
