Well on a friday morning you don't expect to be in a random house in Eastleigh listening to Tommy Walsh from 'the telly' talking about greener energy efficiency in your home.
To be honest I was a bit scepticle before I went, I got a random email from a company - but all for the cause I thought so off I trundeled....
Basically a local housing provider First Wessex along with some government funding (so they are doing something) had fitted out the house with displays etc to show how you can make your home more energy efficient, save money and save the climate. All good so far.
But aren't we all doing the basics anyway. Well apparently not. If you think going green means changing your light bulbs to energy efficient ones, then no - please start again. It also means photovoltaic cells on your roof, hot water from the sun, turning down your thermostat, insulating your house properly to name but a few.
Now volunteering for Greenpeace you learn a bit about this and that and the Energy Bill is partially about making your home more energy efficient - then yes we could get rid of some nuclear power plants - end of!
So Tommy Walsh - thanks for being a celebrity endorsement! Thanks for actually saying we need to do more and create more energy efficient homes. We need a future for ourselves we need it for our children.
When we cut through the corporate crap - this is the last stand!
