Gigging for Greenpeace

Sometimes you organise an event and it doesn't always go as planned!  I really wasn't expecting such a good performance from some of the bands at the Edge of the Wedge that night! It was just a shame that we didn't have a great deal of footfall on the night - anyway this is sort of what happened....

The video projector set the scene with Greenpeace short videos....

Owen put in a blinding set doing a mixture of his own creations and some covers from Neil Young and others.  With his acoustic guitar and the harmonica he really was out there and had a magic charm on stage...I think he even got offered a gig this summer!

Ronk Torp's debut - was a collection of strange sounds with glimpses of melody and a genuine rawness - well is was their debut....The first song was slightly interrupted by a technical glitch (all taken in good humour) but the second song 'Time Lapse' really set the tone, over it's epic 10 minute duration...the next gig should move it up a notch

The Bandoliers blasted on stage and really cranked it up a notch with covers of Blondie's 'Heart of Glass'.  The guitarist Jack was simply electric on stage and you could see that these guys could really go places.  The backing bass (Dan) and drums (Rob) were simply awesome.  As a group - you couldn't fault their timing and sheer power.

You can catch a feeling for the night here:
