Happy new year all.
And with the new year, we were wondering about a new meeting place for our meetings, and wanted to get your thoughts. We’re really keen to make sure our meetings work for you, especially if you haven't been to our meetings before, because we always want more people involved, so now’s your time to have your say!
Over the years we’ve met in many different places and different days of the week. Generally we look for somewhere quiet enough that we can all hear ourselves (most important!), where we know we can get a table, that’s not too pricey, and that’s near enough to good transport links and accessible for people coming from various different places across south west London (or coming straight from work).
We’ve usually meet in pubs, but don’t have to if others would prefer something different, and we’ve also not looked for somewhere specifically child-friendly because it’s not been an issue so far, but again, could look into at that.
We currently meet in Brixton, and it suits a lot of us, but were thinking it might be time for a change. Maybe to somewhere more central that might work better for people coming straight from work. So maybe Pimlico, Clapham Junction or Victoria? Or we’re called South WEST Greenpeace, so maybe we should go out further west, maybe Tooting or Balham?
At the moment we’re looking into the Ritzy or Kaff bar in Brixton, the Jugged Hare in Pimlico…. We did quite a lot of looking a few years back round Clapham Junction and Victoria, and didn’t find anywhere good, but things could have changed.
And we currently meet the first Monday of the month, at around 7.30, but would a different day be better?

I'll get the ball rolling! Mondays or possibly tues/ wednesdays work best for me, and I find Brixton really convenient, but very happy for a change, personally i'd prefer more central rather than further out south west. I'm on my bike so transport not really a problem, but think it definitely needs to be somewhere well connected so easy for others. Also, just to add, whereever we decide to meet, we still try and plan events across lots of different areas across south west london.
I think including the Pimlico area is a great idea, it's close to Victoria which makes it much easier for new people to get to, so my vote goes to the Jugged Hare (:
For me Mondays and Tuesdays work best but could possibly do wednesday as well.
I'm all up for the Pimlico option, great idea to try something new and see what that area can offer us. I'm personally in favour of meeting on Tuesday's.
Pimlico is good for me too, and Monday-Wednesday best days for me. I will keep looking around Clapham and Brixton just in case...
Hiya, happy to try Pimlico but the current location is not a problem for me. Tuesdays and wednesdays work for me.
Heh, i've been trying to come for a while and just not been able to make the day - so not sure my vote should count as not actually been yet! I can't do Tue or Wed (unless late!). I don't work normal hours or in the city and live in Merton Park, so would prefer Tooting or Balham, but Brixton or Pimlico is cool, it's more about having the time to travel there.....oh and i love the pub! x x x
Hi Em, your note definitely counts, we know there's lots of people on our group email list who cant make meetings at the moment, so we want to find a place and time that works for as many people as possible, hopefully we can find something that will work for you....
I'll be coming via Victoria, so either Pimlico or Brixton work for me if the chosen pub is not too far from a tube station. Monday would be my first choice for week night, with Tuesday my second choice.
