On Tuesday we gathered for what are starting to grow into a tradition for our group, socials. We normally take it on shift to hold it at our houses. We encourage everyone to bring their own food and drinks, we then mix all the food together which works well, a bit like an indoor picnic. We then chat about everything from environmentally issues to pet's but tend to focus on the environment as that is what all have in common. A good chance to talk and discuss stuff that we don't find time to talk about at our meetings. Then film time, this time we decided to show 'The Greenpeace Story' alot of our members had not had a chance to watch this (especially the new ones) as at our recent 40 years anniversary and vw film night we had opted to show mindbomb. This was a good choice, especially as an introduction to Greenpeace as we had several new members. The film gave a very good account of how Greenpeace started and what it has developed into today. As always as the debate flowed, time passed and before we knew it was midnight and time to give Dannielle her flat back and big thanks to her for hosting it. Special mention for creativity should go out to SIlvia for bringing her home baked carrot cake - mmmm. On a final note encouraged to notice how our group are steadily growing after including social events, and making out meetings more social and less formal - it's a great way to attract new members.
