Southampton's campaigns

We've been working on campaigns against the destruction of ancient rainforests, and Nestle recently agreed to stop using palm oil, paper and other products from companies linked to deforestation. Even more recently, HSBC bank stopped investing in Sinar Mas, one of the companies most responsible for deforestation by felling rainforests for palm oil production and so on. Of course, we're also campaigning against the utterly foolish and globally irresponsible warmongering waste-of-billions that is Trident.

We're also campaigning to stop BP investing in Tar Sands, about the most environmentally damaging activity imaginable - we're asking people to personalise BP's logo, to write to the company, and to re-design the logo. Not to mention taking the campaign direct to BP...

For more about the forests campaign, including palm oil, look here.

For more about 'what to cut' if the Government is daft enough to spend £97bn (half our existing national deficit) on Trident, look here. To find out more about Trident itself, have a look at our report 'In the Firing Line'

Scrap Trident, save money - have your say

The Treasury is inviting ideas on how to save money, and to vote/comment on ideas already posted - one of these is to scrap Trident.

Visiting BP in Winchester

Saturday 10th July: It was sunny, it was hot - it was our visit to take the 'No Tar Sands' campaign to the St.Cross BP garage in St.Cross, Winchester as part of the national weekend of action.
