12th May was the launch of the latest part of our campaign to reform the Common Fisheries Policy - the European policy that currently drives overfishing and desperately needs reform to stop its ongoing destruction of marine life, and the collapse of fish stocks. Groups all over the country took part at various events - in Southampton, our group took the campaign to the annual Environmental Rock all-dayer in The Hobbit - a festival of local campaign groups, ethical traders and bands. The giant fish costume (pics to come!) was verrrry popular as we asked members of the public to sign fish-cards demanding CFP reform (and colour them in if they wanted to!). We'll be taking the campaign (and the big fish) to more events around Southampton, including the Climate Caravan next week and the World Environment Day Eco-fair in June. So, lots of opportunities to get involved - for more about the campaign as a whole (including an online action if you scroll down), have a look here.
