Yesterday evening (Weds 12th August), Southampton Greenpeace volunteers joined campaigners aiming to prevent closure of the Vestas wind turbine factory on the Isle of Wight. The event started with speakers at Southampton's Town Quay at 5.30pm before moving to the city centre. This is part of an ongoing campaign which has featured occupation of the site and has highlighted the Government's inability to support renewable technologies while it still wastes money on hugely expensive and ineffective nuclear projects.
