Just over a week ago, I wrote about KFC's ongoing unwillingness to sever links with some of the worst forest-trashing companies such as APP when sourcing pulp for their packaging. This was part of a big push to get as many people as possible to write to KFC's board of directors and hence put pressure on global CEO David Novak, a man with a genuinely terrible environmental record, but who is in a position to make things better.
It didn't take long for the UK and Irish branches of KFC to commit to excluding suppliers engaged in rainforest destruction - something that increased the pressure on Novak. Not only that, but volunteers all over the world took action, campaigning at KFC stores, taking to the streets and adding their voices to those calling on the Directors and Novak to do the right thing.
So, things are moving in the right direction but more is needed before KFC drops its links with forest-destroyers globally, so please do visit here and send your message to the Directors.
