On the 20th of April it's national I Luv The arctic day. Together we will call on our political leaders to protect the Arctic from activities that put this fragile environment at risk, such as oil drilling and industrial fishing. People will be doing many creative things to show the Arctic some love. From 7pm to 9pm at The Art House Southampton its going to be a pub/cafe style quiz and I'll be having my dreads cut off. This will be to raise money for the new Arctic pod.
The pod is essential for our work in the Arctic. Our brave activists need safe and secure equipment to survive the Arctic conditions. A survival pod allows activists to stay warm, safe, occupy oil rigs for longer and maintain contact with the outside world.
The Save the Arctic movement is one of the most important ongoing campaigns we have done. Nowhere in the world is as fragile as, or needs our protection more, than the Arctic. It's changing dramatically and that affects us all. The polar ice caps are melting, causing a global ocean level increase and affecting our weather and climate.
