Saying Yes 2 Wind

We've been working on the 'Save the Arctic' and 'I luv Arctic' campaigns for a while now - local action but looking to change the behaviour of huge companies like Shell and protect both the climate and polar habitats. However, sometimes the change happens closer to home - as with the proposed Bullington Cross wind farm in Hampshire. There aren't that many suitable locations for wind farms in Hampshire (the south coast is urbanised, the New Forest is, well, a forest and so on) but this location is excellent:

- It’s at the cross roads of two of the county’s busiest roads (so no arguments about noise as it'll be quieter than what's already there).
- It’s 3km away from the nearest village.
- It’s not in a National Park or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
- It’s in one of the windiest spots of the county.
- The land can still be used for agriculture, as it is now.

This proposal is the sort of development that's needed if we're really going to reduce carbon emissions, but, as ever, the NIMBYs will be out in force to oppose it. So, local groups (Greenpeace, FoE etc) will be joining up to support this wind farm - you can help too, by going here and emailing the councillors involved in planning decisions - it's really easy (it took me seconds) and will make all the difference - thanks!
