Midweek's not always the easiest time to campaign, but some of us were free so off we went to Portswood High Street to get cards signed as part of the VW Dark Side campaign. As I sit here typing, there are 470,902 Jedi (more always welcome though!) and it was good to have seven (including two on their first mission to confront the Dark Side) gathered on a less-than-balmy December afternoon. Fortunately the Force is strong in us and we did manage to stop passers-by and get 80 to sign our action cards urging VW to stop trying to undermine legislation aimed at tackling climate change. Bad VW. As we've said before, there is good in VW, we can feel it - but it may take some effort to bring it to the surface. So, watch out for more street campaigning (all over the country, not just Southampton), and events such as film screenings - there are plans afoot! 'Til then, check out this video about the guys who won the recent spoof VW film competition - their film is after a short interview...
