Spotlight on Juliet in St.Albans - come join her

Juliet Voisey organises a local Greenpeace network and has been a supporter since her teens.

How did you first get involved with Greenpeace?
Way back, when I turned 15, my best friend bought me a year’s subscription to Greenpeace for my birthday. Since then Greenpeace has become part of my life and I have always joined the local network wherever I am living. I have organised a street collection, gone door-to-door, taken part in national actions as well as local campaigning.

And what are you doing now?
I am the local coordinator for the St Albans network, I organise meetings and campaign days in the area. This year I hope to get some publicity through organising a local event.

What is your favourite part of being active with Greenpeace?
Knowing that, even when we’re out campaigning on a cold rainy day and only have about two signatures, we are still making a difference and are part of a nationwide group of activists that has a huge impact. I also love the element of surprise and quirkiness of some of the campaign work, it’s fun!

Which campaigns do you identify with?
They are all so worthwhile. But for me it has to be renewable energy and protecting the oceans.
