If your meeting is a success there’s now a few of you, and so as a small collective of Greenpeace supporters its time to organise a slightly larger event. The principles are the same as organising a small event, however you will have more people to help with the details, and on the day.
Depending on the mix of interests from your preliminary meeting (s) you can decide if you are focusing on a fundraising event, or a public outreach event, or perhaps a mix of the two.
More ambitious ideas include organising:
- A benefit gig, where you talk about your plans to form a new network.
- A small community fair or church fete, inviting other local campaigning groups and ethical / alternative businesses / stalls
- A feature film night, hiring and showing a relevant environmental or activism film, perhaps with a Greenpeace accompanying film. In the past Greenpeace supporters have organised film showings of:
- A public meeting / debate with a panel of prominent local speakers, perhaps including the local MP
- Or a more developed version of one of the smaller event ideas.
Again publicise your event everywhere (as organised by local Greenpeace supporters), actively tell people you want to start a new Greenpeace network, collect people's contact details and distribute flyers for your ‘formal’ launch meeting.
Please tell us about your event using this webform, as we may be able to help with some publicity.
