Turning Volkswagen Away From The Dark Side In The West Midlands

On Saturday, we took part in an Europe wide day of action against Volkswagen by joining others and visiting a VW dealership in Birmingham.

Despite portraying itself as one of the greenest car manufacturers in the world, in reality Volkswagen is responsible for using it's powerful position in the industry to lobby against measures which would improve vehicle and fuel efficiency standards in the USA and Europe. A far cry from the 'green' company they claim to be! If that weren't greenwash enough, only 6% of VW's sales are of their greenest cars, probably as a result of the over inflated price that Volkswagen charge for their 'Bluemotion' technology!

Perhaps unsurprisingly, staff at the dealership were not overly pleased to see us - but despite snatching away some of our 'toys' and calling the police within moments of our arrival, they still found time to take each other pictures with our Stormtrooper on their iphones! Turn them away from the Dark Side we will!

We made our presence felt outside the dealership and received a lot of support from passing motorists, one man even pulled over and got out of his car to find out what Volkswagen are doing wrong! The Rebellion grows stronger every day...

On Sunday night 47 networks across the UK paid visits to their local VW dealerships. We delivered our message directly to Volkswagen again by placing leaflets for their customers under the windscreen wipers of the vehicles on their forecourt.

Until VW agrees to cease it's lobbying against CO2 emissions cuts, The Rebellion will continue.

Join The Rebellion and help us to turn Volkswagen away from the Dark Side.
