First Meeting

Last week I went along to my first meeting of the Tyne and Wear Greenpeace group. I've been interested in environmental issues for a long time now and wanted to get active. Everyone has heard of Greenpeace for some of the great work they've done. There are excellent campaigns being concentrated on in the new year; tar sands, Trident and the continuing airplot (which I have encouraged all my friends and family to sign up to) and plenty of opportunities to get involved, to whatever extent you like, across the whole of Tyne and Wear.

This is a crucial time for the earth and its diverse and numerous inhabitants, as well an exciting time for the green movement. If you've been thinking about coming along to a meeting I'd definitely recommend it. It's a chance to get involved with great group of local, friendly and extremely passionate people.
