Explore the art of action

These people will come to the exhibition if someone gets them a ladder

Walthamstow rocks!

Seriously, show me another part of London with something as utterly cool as the E17 Art Trail. Over 16 days in September, 180 venues will play host to some 350 exhibitions and events showcasing the artistic talents of the locals.

People open up their homes. People display on their hedges. People put art on the side of buildings.

And if you go down to the Stow during this time and take a trip to the Hornbeam Centre, you will also find the Art of Action – Greenpeace Waltham Forest’s contribution to this cornucopia of colourful and creative craziness.

Our exhibition will feature photos from Greenpeace direct actions – local, national and international, running on three distinct themes:

  1. Save the Arctic
  2. Greenpeace UK actions
  3. E17 in action

Our exhibition runs from Wednesday to Saturday from 1-15 September. We are open from 11am to 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday and until 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

Friday and Saturday evening events will also feature screenings of A Time Comes – Nick Broomfield’s short film about an iconic Greenpeace action.

On these evenings, you will also get the chance to meet some of the people behind the pictures.

So come along and help us celebrate the art of action, we like to think it’s the colour on the canvas of activism.
