Waltham Forest Greenpeace is up and running

Posted by DaveOC - 26 February 2010 at 1:41pm - Comments

Following last week's Airplot stall in Walthamstow town centre, I think we can now declare the Waltham Forest Greenpeace network officially open for business.

Those lovely people at the Bethnal Green and Islington groups loaned out some members to stand in the rain and talk to the public about the Airplot campaign and our new group.

We had some very nice conversations and more than a few people expressed an interest in getting involved locally.

Our inauguaral group meeting will take place at Ye Olde Rose and Crown on Tuesday 9 March at 8pm. Subsequent meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month, thanks to the agreement of the very kind staff there.

If you live in the area and are concerned about environmental issues this is an ideal oportunity to get involved on national campaigns and join a family of thousands of volunteer activists covering all corners of the UK.
