A great night!

It was great to have so many people contribute their efforts to this event:
Jayne persuaded Thomas and the Mockups and 2 DJs to perform for free. We are very grateful to them.
Lots of helpers saturated the area with posters and leaflets, collected and displayed old campaign banners, made an amazing timeline scroll, prepared a video of photos of the 3 years of West Dorset Greenpeace history, made a filmloop of inspiring clips of 40 years of action to be shown on the huge screen on the back wall of the Corn Exchange, painted rainbows on lots of faces, sold tickets and tried to look tough etc. etc. And of course Dan drew the short straw and did the serious few words brilliantly.

After £200 for the venue and  £100 for band and DJ expenses we made  £180 from 115 paying customers. Pretty good for Dorchester!

It looks as if we have gained a few new members and we have done some pretty good public outreach.

At 1 am the whale was found amongst revellers in the High Street - apparently she had been christened Wendy and taken for a bit of a pubcrawl. So she too had a more interesting night than usual!

Now we know we can do it there are already ideas flying around for some other event.
