A massive day with activities in 26 cities in 37 countries involving 24,000 people. And seven of them travelled up to London from West Dorset.
Sometimes we just feel like a small dispersed and isolated group, struggling to meet, organise and stay motivated. On a day of action we can recharge and we can feel part of a movement large enough and powerful enough to make a global difference.
It was good to see familiar faces, particularly amongst the brilliant team of volunteers that kept Aurora and the crowds moving. But it was equally good to see so many unknown faces of all ages and styles thronging the streets. We talked to a group who came because they saw Aurora being assembled the day before and we met baby Aurora in her polar bear babygrow. We interviewed the North Pole and we videoed the snowy owl.
At Shell HQ we heard a passionate First Nations speaker from Canada.
The oil industry has no right to take this land! Save The Arctic!
