Our team at Notting Hill farmers market

Last Saturday was a First for West London Greenpeace as we set up stall at Notting Hill Farmers Market.

It was a beautiful sunny morning and we received a very friendly Welcome from the market manager who even let us set up our table. We took a break from our busy Save the Arctic campaign and carried out a survey on the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), asking locals if they think the CFP should be reformed to support local low-impact fishermen. The answer was loud and clear: not one single person voted no!

We had a lovely chat with a local fisherman from Dorset who, of course, knew all about the Be a Fishermen’s Friend campaign and was happy about the collaboration between Greenpeace and NUFTA (New Under Ten Fishermen’s Association, small fishing boats which are under 10 meters long).

All in all we had really positive feedback from the public and we will definitely come back to Notting Hill Farmers Market soon.

If you would like to get involved then find your local group here.
